Last week the whole school was invited to watch three great drummers perform. Nathan, Bethal Primary’s drum teacher, brought along Cory, another drum teacher, and a very talented Grade 5 boy from Kilmore – Ethan.
Please watch all three of them playing together.

The Year 3 and 4 students went on a great excursion to Circus Oz. We started the day with a visit to the Abbotsford Convent. The Convent is made up of 11 historic buildings and lovely gardens. We explored some of the buildings and visited the Art Studio with some unusual art. We also walked around the beautiful gardens.
After a quick lunch we arrived at Circus Oz. We watched a performance by some Circus Oz artists and it was great. The artists balanced on chairs, performed on the trapeze and made us laugh (a lot).
We then took part in a Circus Workshop with the Circus trainers. They taught us many tricks with the diabolo sticks and how to juggle them. We also learnt balancing skills and performed some balancing acts with a partner and with other students.
On the 1st of November the whole school came together in the Bir Building and celebrated music by singing the song “One Song” with other schools in Australia. Please enjoy our performance of “One Song”.

In Term 3 students in Year 3 and 4 participated in a “Circus Skills” unit of work encouraging students to explore and experience a range of roles and situations that they initiated and developed through dramatic play. Students practiced performance and movement by learning activities such as balancing, hula hoops, juggling, skipping, spinning plates and acrobalance, linking music into the routines. The final lesson for the term involved students in planning and rehearsing their skills for a live circus performance in class.
Ativan and Eren bought in their Saz today and performed a piece for the class. The Saz is a Turkish Instrument.
